I work 40 hours a week as a software development manager. I am the primary developer on my team.

Entirely depends on the week. I’ve only had junior developers under me for about 5 weeks now.

It’s still more weighted towards code currently, likely become more manage once we grow team another level.

I managed teams of all expertise levels (from just 1 junior to 4 seniors) for a few years while also coding myself and reviewing tons of code.
Anything specific you’d like to know?

I unofficially review every commit. The company I work for is too small to have a regular code review process. I do many checkins each day with my developers to find out any roadblocks and offer help. Some days we have an active call going where they can just ask for help any time in.

Yea, I used this title for a bit bc I do a lot more than code, helping out across the business at a high level
