Do you see any potential in that?

Hey people.

I got this old project around for some years now:

<https//rotate-image.com>

I always had in mind to train an AI for rotating images without EXIF information.

Otherwise I could shutdown the server and stop renewal of the domain this week.

I wouldn’t use it but I don’t think people in this group would be your target audience. How much traffic does it get? Have you had any feedback?

I would imagine it as a great tool if it’s a Desktop app where you drag a bunch of photos and get them automatically rotated one by one.

As a web app, it’s too much hassle. It’s faster to rotate the images manually than to upload, wait, and download the result.

Thx for the feedback!

James Trimble almost no traffic, but feedback was always good (like yours ) Google doesn’t understand what it does as it seems so rewriting the page would be necessary as well. :see_no_evil: That’s more or less the reason I didn’t continue the last few years: people I showed it thought it was nice but most of them were tech savvy enough so they wouldn’t need it. The AI feature might drag more attention, although it’s probably still a very small niche.

<@U032KER2E06> yeah might work better like this. What about a PWA app?

Just kill it, really No way you can make good money from it in the way that would also worth it.

I would rather try Electron desktop app instead of PWA. PWAs are easier to develop, but I don’t know a single person who uses them extensively.

Thx Kirill Rogovoy. I’m also more in favor of killing it and maybe reintroduce it later with a new name and a tauri desktop app (if I see demand in the future).

I killed it today 😊 Unfortunately I was too late for cancelling the domain. So one more year trying to sell the domain 😊

Benedikt If you’re on Google domains I think they give you a few days grace period. So you might still be able to cancel the domain if you contact them.

Thx James Trimble. Unfortunately (in this case) it’s he

Hetzner and they seems to want it a month before the continuation date. But it’s ok, I’ll try selling it (although I don’t think it’s going to work) and quit it for next year.

I am definitely not the target because I don’t really understand its purpose Also, congrats on being able to kill it. I keep all my projects around and sometimes it gives me some anxiety
